About Us
Gwen Cook and Berni Nash, Co-Founders of theJobJar
TheJobJar was created by two sisters, seeing the need for hiring extra workers when you need them and seeing the need to create opportunities for people to find extra work when they need extra money! A free service, online, where Work Providers and Potential Workers can find each other and...get to work! A temp service without the temp agency hassle!!!
Both sisters worked for temp agencies while in high school and college when living in Indianapolis, Indiana in the 1960's and 1970's. Gwen Cook, one of the sisters, now has worked in corporate America for over 20 years and, Berni Nash, the other sister, has been self-employed for over 20 years.
Both women have perspectives on employer/employee needs in the workplace. Having been wives, working mothers, and one, a single working mom, they also have similar perspectives regarding the extra work people often need in their homes and gardens, as well as their workspaces, whether that's at home or in an office away from home, which often includes help with their children and pets and just keeping up with the pace of their busy lives!
And, Cook and Nash readily acknowledge the need for people, in all walks of life, to be able to make extra money for all the reasons most people need extra money - to pay off debt and medical bills, save for college tuition, vacations, and - hey - just plain saving!
Cook and Nash have employed the website design company, Centresource, in Nashville, Tennessee (www.centresource.com), to put together their idea of how to make finding extra work or extra workers easy to do!
Their hope is that a community of JobJar users is created so that people in Nashville will begin to have a resource at their fingertips for finding extra work and/or finding extra hands when they need them!
